The Stamford Times’ Joe Ryan caught up with Brian Kollar ’15, Tyler Klein ’15, and head coach Ron Carlucci—Stamford natives all—for a terrific piece on the newly minted FAA Champions.

NORWALK FAA-Champions— St. Luke’s came within a game of winning the Fairchester Athletic Association ice hockey crown a year ago and while the Storm had to wait 12 months to make the dream come true, it was worth the wait as they defeated Rye Country Day school 5-3 last week.

In 2010, the FAA established a varisty hockey league with the Storm a bit of an afterthought, but in the last two years St Luke’s has chipped away at RCD’s strangle hold on the league trophy.

Carlucci…believes the FAA schools offer kids the benefit of playing locally in front of their families along with participating in travel programs. He hopes the league will expand and more local players discover the Storm as an option to playing closer to their homes … “With all the things St Luke’s has going on and what is going on in Fairfield County hockey, there are plenty of reasons to stay around here which is great.”
