Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, Dead at 56

Typically, the death of a CEO would not be top news on both CNN and a Facebook newsfeed. However, Steve Jobs was no typical CEO. As founder of Apple Computer, Jobs did something that few men can rightly claim; he changed the world. Through his unique vision and ever-expanding innovation, Jobs created a world in which computers and other electronics were not cold and calculating machines, but rather user-friendly, accesible tools. Job’s list of developments is staggering, with a catalog boasting the iMac, Macbook, Ipod, Iphone, Itunes, and Ipad. While his leadership and ingenuity may have made Apple the most valuable company in the world, it was his underdog mentality and triumphant spirit that inspired millions.

““Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.””

-Steve Jobs (1955-2011)
